Developing Entrepreneur Skills
SLCF supported projects around developing independent entrepreneurs within communities. This was achieved by;
- Working directly with institutions identify the individuals/ families that have the skills set to become and owner but struggling with insufficient income
- Depending on their conditions and willingness provide investment
- Registering owners with SLCF and also with the managers of the institutions in order to monitor activities and money being spent in the right manner
- Supporting local entrepreneurs by identifying potential vendors in the country to make sales.
Provided Clothing Good Shepherd Convent Mother’s Care Home
- Project objective – Supported empathetic and nurturing single mothers and abandoned pregnant ladies with child birth and care for a year till they provide the babies to the adoption centre
- Project budget – Rs. 1 Lakh per year
- Project Benefits – To help abandoned mothers to gain self-esteem, and taking care of their babies until they are in good hands
Supported for social events fun
- Project objective – Supported social events and gatherings, such as organising Christmas parties, farewell meals
- Project budget – Rs 10,000 A clear completion dates – Seasonal

Supporting Disadvantaged Communities Due to the Prevailing Crisis (Para's Project)
SLCF has reached out to disadvantaged communities in Sri Lanka who are currently unable to support themselves. They are victims of the economic crisis that has hit Sri Lanka post-pandemic and due to political instability in the country. We are currently providing essentials like food, medicines and stationary for schooling.
COVID Support for Local Communities – Mortuwa- Mother Teresa Hostel
We helped fund a Christmas Party and Christmas Gifts for 40 children, Our contribution was £260 with which we funded most of the following purchases.
Created Empowered Fashion Entrepreneurs Divi Setha Sewing Centre
- Project objective – Provided fabrics and dead lock machine for 35 skilled sewers to start their own sustaining business in sewing
- Project budget – Rs 150,000 A clear completion date – July 2019

COVID Support for Local Communities – Trincomalee - Sewing Talent Women
We provided support to Trincomalee families to enable them to generate income after having lost their jobs in tourism. We paid for two sewing machines and materials. Our total contribution was £212. They sent us pictures of all the products they created with our donations.
Entrepreneur Educational Support & Digital Support
SLCF has taken an initiative to support potential entrepreneurs in starting up their own business in a small scale. An interest to bake cake, start a bakery or ride a auto SLCF will support with the funds in the early stage provided based on the validity of the owners business idea.
Divi Setha Sewing Centre
- Project objective –To support fisher men’s wives in the Deevarama village who have been trained with sewing skills in order to empower them and have a living for themselves
- Project budget – Rs. 400,000 per year
- Project Benefits – Fair trade, drive innovation, community stabilization, building skills
COVID Support for Local Communities – Batticola - St Michael Hostel
We provide money to buy food for St Michael's children's hostel in Batticaloa. Due to COVID, their financial need became acute, and one of our Sri Lanka supporters approached us to see if we could help. We gave them money to buy food for a month for all the children in the hostel. Our contribution was £151
