Thank you for supporting us in 2022! 'You can have everything in life that you want if you just give enough other people what they want'... 2022 Highlight for SLCF is the collaboration with a local IT partner embarking on a coding course journey for the primary school children in the rural areas. The key aim of this project was to provide the relevant computer and digital skills for children and bridge any digital gaps between the towns. Other projects included supporting farmer, entrepreneurs and continuing with support of setting up computer centres. SLCF DONATE VALUABLE IT EQUIPMENT AND INTRODUCE CODING TO SCHOOLS IN TELDENIYA
Due to the uncertainty caused by Covid-19 over the last 2 years, which has included lockdowns and now the economic crisis hitting the country, underprivileged schools have greatly suffered because of the lack of important supplies for their education. In an attempt to overcome this barrier, the Sri Lanka Children Foundation (SLCF) aimed to make donations of IT equipment to selected schools to introduce technology including coding and e-learning. As the first phase of this project, CP / Tel / Dumbara Adarsha Primary School and CP / Tel / Mahinda Adarsha Primary School were visited by the SLCF teams and donations of IT equipment were made. SLCF also did an introductory session to coding programme for the students gathered in both schools enabling them to use the newly donated equipment for learning purposes.
